Adam Johnson is a professional football player who was born to Dave and Sonia on July 14, 1987 in Sunderland, England. He completed his primary education at Easington Primary and later attended Easington Comprehensive.
Adam Johnson began his international football career with the England Under-19 team. In 2007, he was selected for the U-21 side and since then, has won a total of eight international caps, which includes a game in which he scored once.
Adam Johnson began his professional football career with the Middlesbrough's Academy. He was a member of the youth team that won the 2003–04 Football Association (FA) Youth Cup. This mid-fielder was awarded the “Special Team Player of the Year” in 2004.
At the age of seventeen, Adam Johnson was promoted to the senior side and made his debut for it in the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Cup match against Sporting Clube de Portugal on March 17, 2005. Six months later, he made his first premiership appearance as well as his first start for his club in its 2-1 home win over Arsenal. On May 3, 2006, Adam Johnson scored his first goal for the team in its English Premier League game against Bolton Wanderers.
In October 2006, he signed a one-month loan deal with Leeds United and appeared in 5 games for this club. Later, he returned to Middlesbrough and played a pivotal role in its FA Cup replay with Bristol City on 13th February 2006. He helped his side advance to the next round by scoring the winning penalty during the shootout. In September 2007, Adam Johnson moved to the Championship side Watford on a three-month loan deal and has played 12 games for this club, scoring 5 goals to his credit. To his teammates and close ones, he is known by his nickname “Jinky”.
