Robben started his football journey with the youth system of VV Bedum. Robben joined the youth system of FC Groningen later. He made it to the senior side of FC Groningen, in 1999.He made his debut for Groningen while playing against Waalwijik in 2000. Robben scored six goals in 23 matches for Groningen in 2001/2002 season. He was their player of the season.
Following his impressive performances for Groningen, he moved to PSV Eindhoven in a transfer deal worth 3.9 million Euros, in 2002.Robben scored 13 goals, and helped PSV to win Dutch league title, in 2003.Robben along with Mateja Kezman were the players of the year of PSV in that season. Robben helped PSV to lift Peace cup in 2003 and Johan Cruijff Shield in 2004.Robben won the Holland’s Young player of the year award, in 2003.Injury affected Robben in his second for PSV. Robben played 68 matches for PSV and scored 21 goals.
Robben made his International debut for Holland in a Euro cup match against Czech Republic as a substitute, in 2004.He helped Holland to clinch penalty shootout against Sweden in a knock out match, in that tournament. Robben helped Holland to qualify for 2006 world cup. He scored against Serbia and Montenegro in his first world cup match. He won two man of the match awards, at 2006 world cup. He scored an amazing goal against France at Euro 2008.Holland went out of the tournament at quarterfinal stage. Robben has scored 11 goals in 43 appearances for Holland. Robben is certainly a skilful player to have in any team.
