Rachel Unitt is one of the most experienced members of the Blues squad and is a figurehead in women’s football.
A full-back with a powerful left foot, Rachel has won various accolades throughout her career. Notably, in 2006, she was named the England Women’s Player of the Year.
Unitt joined the Blues from Fulham in 2003 and has since become a vital component of the team. In 2005, Rachel earned a summer move to New Jersey Wildcats for the last few weeks of their season and helped secure the W-League title before returning to Merseyside.
Rachel has over 80 caps for England, scoring seven goals, and most recently featured for the Three Lions in their 2011 World Cup Qualifying campaign in 2010.
Unitt boasts an impressive list of achievements during her career - winning both the FA Women's Cup and the Premier League Cup three times - winning both titles once with Everton.
With the Women's Champions League her only form of competitive football ahead of the 2011 inaugural FA WSL season, Unitt played for Leeds City Vixens in the FA Women's Premier League Cup.
